Our Story
ChatterHigh.com was founded in 2012 with the goal of making it fun for students to explore life after high school. In 2017, we were named EdTech of the Year in Canada and we incorporated in the United States.
In 2018, a study on ChatterHigh was conducted by the Canadian Career Development Foundation (CCDF) on behalf of a provincial government. This research was presented by CCDF at career development conferences globally and was published in a peer-reviewed journal in Asia.
Since inception, we have helped hundreds of thousands of learners explore possibilities, find their passions, and seek their path.
At the outset of the pandemic, we expanded our platform to include learning activities using our gamified ‘seek and find’ approach for other critical topics such as mental health and wellness. School Districts partnered with us to create customized learning modules for topics such as Dual Credit options, graduation transition plans, financial assistance, and more.
An innovative, positive, and useful resource for students, ChatterHigh is quickly becoming an essential part of the teenager’s high school education and career toolbox.
Hope
“a positive motivational state that is based on an interactively derived sense of successful (a) agency (goal-directed energy) and (b) pathways (planning to meet goals)” Snyder et al.
Hope has been proven to predict objective academic achievement above intelligence, personality, and previous academic achievement. It also has an impact on outlook, resilience, and is linked to a clearer career or ‘vocational identity’ in high school students.
How Does ChatterHigh Foster Hope?
By exposing students to a variety of career and post-secondary options, we help students engage in inquiry-based learning and develop vocational identity. Students begin to picture themselves following these paths and set goals to work towards a particular career. Small milestones built into the gamified platform build their sense of efficacy, and allow pathways to become clearer. There will always be obstacles in the way of our goals, and our Mindful Modules help students build the life skills to view obstacles as a challenge rather than a setback.

Of students said ChatterHigh made them feel more hopeful, motivated and engaged in regards to their future.
More likely to know the next steps for the path they want to follow.
“Like hunting submarines, we must constantly look over the horizon to the goal of a career, which is a moving target and unclear, and ‘ping’ back to today to see if we are on any sort of path that makes sense. If we believe we are on a path we can follow, we have ‘hope’. Hope is the biggest predictor of our success. Hopeful students are more engaged in their studies. This helps them become adaptable, which prepares them to thrive in an uncertain future.”

Social Impact / Philanthropy
We’re dedicated to giving back to the community and offering students the opportunity to give back too. Points earned on the platform through the Daily Quiz or Mindful Modules can be donated to support Feeding America or Food Banks Canada. Research shows that donating to charity fosters personal happiness and well-being, and can help people feel more confident, efficacious, in control, and optimistic. Sound like good qualities to instill in youth? We think so!
Why Feeding America and Food Banks Canada?
Healthy minds and bodies rely on nutrients from the food we eat. It’s that simple!
